Introducing Jeric Gonzales, The Coco Martin Lookalike Among The Proteges

AMONG THE three remaining male protégés, Jeric Gonzales, the nursing graduate from Calamba Doctors College in Laguna is the one most writers say has much promise in terms of good looks. But they concede that Jeric looks much better in person and doesn’t register that well on screen. What can he say about this? “I’m not aware of that. But I guess mapag-aaralan naman how I can project better on screen para maging mas telegenic.”

It’s also said that although he sings well, he’s not that good in acting. “I’ve been informed na dead ang eyes ko, no emotions, walang libog daw. I admit naman that I’m very raw sa acting. But I’m very diligent in our workshops and I think malaki na rin ang improvement ko. Even my mentor, Jolina Magdangal, is now more pleased with me.”

The youngest of four kids, his three eldest siblings are all married. “I have six pamangkins rooting for me.”

Standing 5’10”, the 20-year old Jeric is the tallest among the male contestants. Who does he think is his biggest rival between Ruru Madrid and Mikoy Morales? “Si Ruru, kasi he’s 14, advantage niya ang youthfulness niya and he acts, dances and sings kaya ang dami niyang fans. But I think positive that I’ll be the one to win in the finals on October 21.”

Jeric is also said to be a lookalike of Coco Martin but we don’t think that will help him as no lookalike has made it big in showbiz.
